Home › Nap length
How long should my baby nap?
There is no single nap duration that every baby should achieve. Nap length depends on age, the number of naps in the day, sleep pressure and where the nap sits in the schedule.
Why nap lengths vary
- A main morning or midday nap may be longer and more restorative.
- A late bridge nap may only need to take the edge off before bedtime.
- Short naps can happen even when the timing is reasonable.
- Illness, teething, travel and stimulation can alter sleep.
Use a range, not a target to enforce
Lulla shows a suggested nap-length range as flexible planning guidance. It is not an instruction to wake a sleeping baby at an exact minute.
